DOGS OF DOWNTOWN: Theo

Meet Theo in our latest Dogs of Downtown feature! Theo is originally from Tennessee, where he was rescued alongside 16 other puppies from his litter. At just one month old, he and his brother were transported to the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Theo spent one week at the shelter before he was adopted. His owners were told that no one wanted him because of his size -- by 2.5 months, he weighed 23 pounds! From the moment his owners met him, they knew he was the one they wanted to bring home, and an hour later, he was officially theirs. While Theo's breed is unknown, one thing is for sure: he's a total love bug and a bit of a talker too!

Favorite toy: He has a huge squeaker toy carrot that’s half his size that he loves.

Favorite treat: Fromm Crunchy O’s -- any flavor. He also loves watermelon, blueberries and carrots.

Favorite thing about Milwaukee: He loves going to all of the festivals in the summertime. A majority of them are dog-friendly and he is a people person through and through.

Favorite Downtown-area business: Theo absolutely LOVES St. Paul’s Tiki Bar at the Milwaukee Public Market in the Third Ward. He loves the people and he loves the Salmon Crack. We are also frequents of Salty Paws and Riley’s Sandwich Shop.

Why is Theo excited for Downtown’s first off-leash dog park? Theo loves people and loves dogs. He is excited to have some space to let his energy out, as well as make some new friends in the area.

Keep up with Theo’s adventures around Milwaukee and soon at the Downtown dog park on his Instagram page at @theTheoEffect!
