Meet Maverick, a 4-year-old German Shepherd. He was born in West Virginia. His mom picked him up when he was 10 weeks old and they lived in Virginia until Maverick was 2 years old. His name comes from the movie "Top Gun" -- his mom is a big 80’s movie fan and "Top Gun" is one of her all-time favorites!

Maverick’s favorite toy is one of his many, many balls. To him, ball is LIFE! His Kong frisbee is a second favorite. Maverick also loves carrying things into the house and having a job to do -- he carries the mail in, he picks up sticks on walks and carries them, he even knows how to hold a paintbrush and paint!

Maverick likes having a yak stick to chew on while he looks out the window at the neighborhood. He also really loves his greenies.
Maverick’s favorite thing about Milwaukee.
Maverick loves the weather in Milwaukee! He gets more snow here than he did in Virginia, and Maverick LOVES playing in the snow!

Maverick loves going anywhere with his pawrents. He enjoys walking around the Third Ward, and eating out on the patio at The Wicked Hop!
Why is Maverick excited for downtown’s first dog park?
Maverick used to play frisbee at the dog park in his old neighborhood in Virginia every morning before work. He had some puppy BFF’s there that he had to leave when he moved to Wisconsin, so he’s looking forward to getting to make new friends to play with!
